Recruitment to the scheme
The recruitment and selection of Fellows involves the Trust at all levels. The Policy & Planning Section currently co-ordinates the process, sending out information to a variety of organisations and Trust Properties, organising interviews by the Arkell Panel and liasing with Fellows prior to their Presentations to the Management Board and other Head Office Staff in November.
The Arkell Panellists consist of Trust staff and Council Members and are involved in the short listing of candidates and the interview process and selection. In addition, each Fellow is assigned a Supervisor who is usually a full-time member of staff and is conversant with the topic of research being undertaken.
Supervisors give the Fellows guidance, encouragement and support through all stages of the research and report writing. They also assist in the identification, visiting and examination of Trust properties relevant to their particular study.
