The Trust's remit, to protect places of natural beauty and historic interest, means that it takes a uniquely broad view of the world around us. The Trust’s interests take in everything from wildlife to architecture, and as a result its research covers a remarkably wide spectrum.
In areas from peat-free gardening to land use, the Trust is constantly defining its own practices, setting policies, consulting with government, carrying out case studies and publishing papers.
A wealth of documents relating to this work can be found on the Environment and Conservation section of the National Trust site.
