The Trust's collections are mainly kept in properties, so contents are displayed in situ reflecting the days when they were family homes. We have a section of this website which is dedicated to the Trust's vast collections. Click here to discover more.
The Trust is constantly re-assessing access to its collections. We are currently embarking on computerisation of all the Trust's inventories into one database.
Lack of display space or vulnerability of the collectables, mean that some collections are only shown in rotation. These include costumes and textiles at Snowshill, Dunham Massey, Killerton and the Museum of Childhood at Sudbury Hall.
A Collections Manager at each property will respond to enquiries about the collections, researches their history and gives guided tours at the property.
